Overview

As a Real Estate Associate, you support a wide range of commercial and residential real estate matters within a longstanding Southern Pennsylvania law firm. You collaborate across attorneys, corporate teams, brokers, lenders, and authorities to facilitate complex transactions and closings. You'll manage due diligence, document drafting, and post-closing processes, shaping real estate portfolios and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate documents (purchase agreements, leases, loan documents, closing papers)
  • Manage due diligence for acquisitions and dispositions (title, survey, environmental, municipal reviews)
  • Support financing and lending transactions, coordinate with lenders, track conditions to closing
  • Coordinate closings and post-closing matters, ensure recordings, disbursements, and file integrity
  • Collaborate with attorneys, corporate clients, brokers, lenders, and municipal authorities to ensure smooth transaction flow
  • Conduct legal and market research on zoning, land use, municipal regulations, and title matters
  • Assist with real estate aspects of mergers and acquisitions (portfolio reviews, asset transfers, lease assignments)
  • Maintain transaction files, client updates, and matter management systems; prepare status reports and billing support
  • Support leasing portfolio management (renewals, amendments, rent reviews) for commercial and residential properties
  • Contribute to business development through pitch materials, deal summaries, and client meetings
Key requirements
  • J.D. with PA bar admission in good standing
  • 2+ years real estate transactions experience (commercial leasing, lending, or corporate real estate) in law firm or in-house
  • Solid knowledge of commercial and residential real estate, leasing, lending, municipal regulations, and title matters
  • M&A involving real property or real estate portfolios is a plus
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and document-management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clients, brokers, and municipal officials
  • Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize deadlines, and work independently and in a team
  • Strong analytical and research skills in land use, zoning, and municipal code review
