Overview

You will join Arvato's Legal Department to support procurement and commercial contracting, advising internal stakeholders and negotiating vendor relationships. This role involves drafting and reviewing MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, software licenses, and other commercial agreements, while managing legal risk. You will collaborate with procurement, finance, and business teams to align contracts with policy and regulatory requirements, and may assist on employment, compliance, and policy matters. The position offers exposure to high-volume contracting in a global logistics environment and opportunities to shape vendor management tools and playbooks.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate procurement and commercial agreements (vendor/supplier, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, software licenses, professional services)
  • Collaborate with procurement and business teams to support sourcing, manage contractual risk, and ensure policy alignment
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and terms
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidelines for procurement and vendor management
  • Conduct legal research on commercial contracting, data protection, transportation management, and vendor relationships
  • Assist with related employment, compliance, and policy matters in collaboration with HR/compliance teams
Key requirements
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one state (Massachusetts, New York, California, Tennessee or Kentucky preferred)
  • 2-7 years of hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts with emphasis on procurement and vendor/technology/SaaS/operational agreements
  • Ability to independently analyze contract risk, draft revisions, and explain legal implications to non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent writing, oral communication, and analytical skills; sound business judgment and critical thinking
  • Ability to handle high-volume contract workload with supervision and escalate risks as needed
