Overview

In this role, you support Safelite's in-house employment counsel with foundational legal and project tasks. You'll help manage day-to-day employment matters, including litigation support, agency charges, and discovery. You work independently, bring core employment law knowledge, and grow proficiency with legal processes and documentation standards. You will be part of a legal team delivering precise, timely responses and data-driven insights, with a clear opportunity to strengthen employment-law capabilities at scale.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in investigating and responding to federal/state employment charges, lawsuits, claims, and attorney demand letters; organize data and prepare documents for subpoenas, records requests, and discovery, including e-discovery
  • Draft basic correspondence, memos, and employment agreements under guidance of legal counsel
  • Maintain and organize records for employment matters in the legal matter management system; serve as case administrator for assigned matters
  • Monitor and triage inquiries via the Legal Department mailbox, incoming mail, and CSC portal
  • Conduct basic employment law research to answer business inquiries
  • Support departmental projects and respond to counsel and internal partner inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Key requirements
  • Experience supporting legal, compliance, human resources, employee relations, or litigation-related work
  • Experience with employment litigation processes, agency charges, subpoenas, records requests, or discovery
  • Experience with legal matter management, document management, or e-discovery systems
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday) or comparable systems
  • Knowledge of employment litigation processes and agency procedures
  • Strong organization, document management, and recordkeeping
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Written and verbal communication, attention to detail, ability to follow processes and meet deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and shifting priorities
  • Confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive information
  • Collaboration with legal counsel and internal business partners
  • Research, issue spotting, and preparation of clear factual summaries
