Overview In this role you lead the adoption and scaling of autonomous technology deployments across mining sites, translating enterprise strategy into safe, reliable implementations. You act as the mining lead for autonomous systems, partnering with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, IT, and commercial teams to meet site standards. You'll manage pilots, trials, and technology roadmaps, balancing safety, reliability, and performance. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving value through scalable automation across a region or set of sites. You will shape how automation supports safety and productivity at scale.
Responsibilities- Act as the Autonomous Technology lead for assigned mining regions, sites, or functional domains
- Identify, prioritize, and deliver autonomous solutions to improve safety, production efficiency, asset utilization, and cost control
- Translate automation strategy into executable, site-aware roadmaps
- Coordinate pilots, proofs of concept, and trials with clear objectives, timelines, ownership, and exit criteria
- Lead a hybrid delivery ecosystem with SMEs, vendors, OEMs, and internal teams
- Drive structured change management and adoption with site leadership, supervisors, and maintenance personnel
- Support transition from trial to production including training, SOPs, and ownership models
- Identify opportunities to replicate and scale solutions across sites and regions
- Provide performance data and feedback to inform enterprise roadmaps and standards
Key requirements- Bachelor in Engineering or 12 years of specialized experience
- 5 years of experience delivering automation systems or related disruptive technologies in mining or heavy industry
- Minimum 10 years of project management or operational leadership experience in mining or related fields
- Familiarity with mining domains such as design/planning, operations, maintenance, and asset health
- Understanding of OT, IT, and wireless communications in mining
