Overview In this role you will design and install underground infrastructure across Nevada Gold Mines, focusing on ventilation, utilities, and related systems. You will collaborate with planning teams to ensure a robust network that supports safe, efficient operations. You will assess existing infrastructure, set standards, and coordinate maintenance to meet long-term plans. Responsibilities- Plan, review and monitor ventilation networks using Deswik and Ventsim; perform underground inspections and vent surveys
- Review infrastructure for age, functionality, and maintenance requirements via underground mapping
- Develop and maintain infrastructure standards based on equipment specs, usage, and lifecycle
- Create and maintain infrastructure audit and maintenance schedules with Fixed Maintenance collaboration
- Assess proposed infrastructure against mass balance and impacts in the Medium/Long-Term Plan
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure delivery of objectives and outcomes
- Ensure plans, budgets and schedules are well-developed and adhered to; apply management systems and processes; meet deadlines and budgets
- Seek development opportunities in support of the role
Key requirements- Bachelor-degree in mining, civil, or mechanical engineering; related field
- 2-3 years of industry experience preferred
- Ventilation and/or paste backfill experience preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of underground mine infrastructure systems (air, water, discharge, underground electrical and communications)
- Understanding of mine infrastructure requirements (air, water, power, discharge, ventilation, refuge)
- Deswik and Ventsim experience considered advantageous
- Understanding of engineering principles and mining regulations
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills; ability to convey ideas clearly
