Overview

As a Property Damage Litigation Attorney you will represent policyholders in first-party homeowner claims across Colorado. You will handle a diverse caseload, litigate complex coverage issues, and advocate for homeowners facing hail, wind, fire, and water damage. You'll work closely with a team to pursue favorable outcomes and stay current on Colorado insurance law. This role offers the chance to shape outcomes for clients while growing with an established, supportive firm.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration
  • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings
  • Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on legal strategies
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys
  • Stay informed on developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims
Key requirements
  • 2+ years of litigation experience (first-party property damage a plus)
  • Member of the Colorado Bar in good standing
  • Experience managing a full lifecycle of claims from inception to resolution
  • Strong legal research and drafting skills
  • Experience taking/defending depositions
  • Negotiation, mediation, and arbitration experience
  • Ability to represent clients in court as needed
  • Effective client communication and collaboration with the legal team
  • Knowledge of Colorado insurance law and property claims
