Location: Canal Winchester, OH 43110
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Multiple day and evening shift options available
Pharmacy Technician Job Summary
This role supports prescription processing and medication fulfillment within a micro-fulfillment center. This is strictly a fulfillment and operations role, not a retail pharmacy position, and does not involve direct patient or customer interaction. Responsibilities include processing prescription information, operating automated fulfillment equipment, preparing medications, and packaging orders for shipment. Entry-level candidates are welcome. A state pharmacy technician license or registration is required, while national certification and previous pharmacy experience are preferred but not required.
Pharmacy Technician Available Shift Options
Candidates can choose from the following available schedules:
- 7:30 AM-3:30 PM: Thursday-Monday (Tuesday and Wednesday off)
- 7:30 AM-3:30 PM: Sunday-Thursday (Friday and Saturday off)
- 3:30 PM-1:30 AM: Tuesday-Friday (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday off)
- 3:30 PM-1:30 AM: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday off)
- 3:30 PM-1:30 AM: Sunday-Wednesday (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off)
Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities
- Process prescription orders and patient information using established pharmacy data entry procedures and fulfillment systems.
- Enter refill orders, handle prescription requests within HIPAA guidelines, and resolve data entry exceptions.
- Review prescription information, interpret common medical abbreviations and SIG codes, and obtain missing information when needed.
- Operate automated fulfillment machinery and move medications and inventory through different workflow stages.
- Count and fill prescriptions, apply labels, and prepare completed orders for packing and shipment.
- Review and resolve third-party prescription rejects by gathering information, making necessary corrections, and resubmitting orders.
- Assist pharmacists and communicate workflow or prescription issues to senior staff when appropriate.
- Clean and help maintain automated equipment and keep the work area organized.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active state pharmacy technician license or registration is required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Basic computer skills, including navigating programs, saving and printing documents, and accessing information online.
Preferred Qualifications
- PTCB or ExCPT certification; certification is preferred but not required.
- Previous pharmacy technician experience in a retail, fulfillment, or other pharmacy setting is preferred, with no specific amount of experience required.
