Human Resource (HR) Manager II

Overview

In this role you will support classification and compensation work, HRIS data management, and workforce analytics while aiding the County's Workday transition. You will partner with HR, payroll, finance, IT, and leadership to ensure accurate data, reporting, and ongoing data integrity during implementation. You will contribute to compensation studies, job documentation, and strategic rewards decisions, helping optimize programs for equity and competitiveness. This is a data driven, cross functional role at a county level, focused on successful system migration and informed decision making.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct compensation reviews by analyzing internal pay data and external market information to support equitable and competitive salary decisions
  • Administer compensation programs and provide guidance on pay structures, job leveling, and related HR policies
  • Coordinate benefit-related activities to ensure timely communication, issue resolution, and effective program support
  • Create and refine job descriptions to reflect role scope, responsibilities, and required qualifications
  • Rewrite existing position summaries into clear, thorough, and consistent documentation supporting hiring and compensation evaluation
  • Perform market research to identify compensation and benefits trends, benchmark roles, and inform recommendations
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to assess role changes and recommend updates to compensation or job documentation as needed
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and recommendations to support compensation planning and broader rewards-related decisions
Key requirements
  • Detail-oriented HR professional with strong experience in classification and compensation
  • HRIS data management, reporting, and workforce analytics
  • HRIS implementation support and Workday transition experience
  • Expertise in data migration, validation, testing, and data integrity during ERP implementations
