Overview In this Principal role, you will lead M&A integration and separation initiatives for mid-market clients, guiding planning through execution and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. You'll drive growth by expanding the client network, demonstrating value across the deal lifecycle, and delivering high-impact outcomes for private equity and corporate buyers. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to shape strategy, methodologies, and thought leadership. Responsibilities- Lead and grow a high-performing M&A integration/separation practice and mentor diverse professionals
- Develop and evolve methodologies, tools, and thought leadership for full-service M&A offerings
- Develop business through internal and external channels and build trust across a broad client base
- Expand the internal and external network to support firm objectives and strategic growth
- Direct director/manager engagement leaders in integration/separation engagements and craft client value
- Act as trusted advisor to clients, guiding support for larger business objectives
- Lead client workshops with private equity and strategic buyers to validate deal thesis and objectives
- Sell and structure pre-close, post-close, and day-1 operation engagement services across buy-side and sell-side deals
- Provide management advice across functional areas based on engagement scope and transaction complexity
- Lead TSA evaluation in pre-close planning, identify gaps, and plan to close them with new services and resources
- Support synergy assessment and realization in pre- and post-close phases to optimize value
- Collaborate with delivery leads to manage engagements profitably and support sales cycles
- Contribute to firm strategy with ISA and Deal Services leadership on an annual basis
Key requirements- 10-12+ years in M&A, separations, value creation, or related advisory within a professional services firm
- Broad exposure to middle market (private equity, privately held, or publicly traded) environments
- Industry breadth with preferred depth in TMT, Life Sciences, or financial services/healthcare
- Strong program management and leadership capabilities
- Willingness to travel 3-4 days per week (40-45 weeks/year)
- Ability to recruit, develop, and lead diverse, high-performing teams
- Strong financial acumen to manage engagement outcomes
- Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and analytical skills
- Self-motivated, adaptive, and capable of delivering under time-sensitive conditions
- Bachelor's degree; MBA or Master's degree is a plus
