Overview In this role you will develop and execute commodity strategies for indirect materials and production support, ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and quality-compliant supply for rail manufacturing and facility operations. You'll collaborate across Production, Engineering, Facilities, Logistics, and EHS to align procurement with project schedules and operational needs. You will lead supplier negotiations and drive cost improvements while managing supplier performance. This position offers the chance to shape procurement for critical production inputs in a multinational manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for consumables, MRO materials, tooling, safety products, warehouse equipment, and production supplies
- Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, contracts, blanket orders, supplier agreements, and inventory stocking programs
- Manage procurement activities for categories including adhesives, sealants, tapes, foams, insulation products, coatings, and chemical consumables
- Oversee production tooling procurement, tool repair, calibration services, and replacement tooling components
- Source maintenance materials, lubricants, coolants, oils, and shop supplies
- Procure safety, fire protection, environmental, and regulatory compliance products
- Handle warehouse shelving and material handling equipment procurement
- Collaborate with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Logistics, Warehouse, EHS, Quality, and Project Management
- Manage supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness
- Identify, qualify, and onboard suppliers meeting Stadler's operational, quality, and service requirements
- Conduct market research, benchmarking, and TCO analyses to support sourcing decisions and cost reduction
- Develop sourcing strategies to minimize supply interruptions and optimize inventory
- Participate in cross-site purchasing initiatives and leverage global agreements
- Support claims management, warranty recovery, and supplier corrective actions
- Manage supplier implementation of product changes and obsolescence while maintaining continuity
- Support Kanban, replenishment, and inventory management for frequently used production materials
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure availability of critical consumables for uninterrupted manufacturing operations
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in Industrial or Manufacturing purchasing
- Fluent English required with German a plus
