Commodity Buyer

In this role you will develop and manage the supplier panel for a specific commodity segment, driving savings and long-term agreements. You will define segment strategies, lead cross-functional supplier activities, and monitor QCD performance to meet financial targets. You'll work with Program Buyers on sourcing and supplier development, and conduct supplier reviews to improve performance. This position offers exposure to global procurement, cost modeling, and sustainability-driven sourcing in a dynamic automotive environment.

• Develop and execute segment Commodity Strategy and lead related activities
• Deliver purchasing budget, update forecasts, and report monthly savings
• Support sourcing for new segments and define supplier panels
• Pursue cost optimization and long-term savings opportunities with suppliers
• Conduct supplier audits/visits and review performance with cross-functional teams
• Progress savings from inception to implementation and report monthly to management
• Identify, track, and close savings with retroactive adjustments as needed
• Hold monthly supplier management reviews to address savings gaps and quality issues
• Prepare and deploy Commodity Strategies & Cost Models for various commodities
• Understand cost break-downs, challenge suppliers, and input into cost models
• Travel 15-20% domestically and internationally
• Engage in other duties to support commercial targets and supplier optimization

• 8 years in automotive industry
• 5 years in purchasing functions
• SAP experience (preferred)
• Proficient Excel and Word skills
• Strong communication skills
• Willingness to travel 15-20%
