Overview In this role you will independently manage core accounting activities to support accurate financial reporting and compliance. You will work with accounting leadership to review policies, strengthen controls, and contribute to audits, tax, and month-/year-end close processes. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to improve processes and systems while maintaining GAAP-compliant records. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position in a collaborative finance function.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger areas in accordance with GAAP
- Perform reconciliations of bank, general ledger, subledger, and balance-sheet accounts
- Support portions of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes and related analyses
- Maintain accounting records, files, and documentation for assigned areas
- Provide financial reporting support and analyses on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis
- Support internal controls through documented processes and control improvements
- Assist with audit preparation, fieldwork, and documentation requests
- Support tax-related activities including documentation gathering and schedules
- Research accounting questions and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulations
- Analyze budgets, expenses, and variances; assist with process improvements and ad hoc projects
- Lead by example with ownership and mentor less experienced staff
- Contribute to departmental priorities and take on special assignments as needed
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4+ years of experience in audit and/or corporate accounting
- CPA or CPA track preferred
- Project accounting or job-costing experience preferred
