Overview In this role you will support the Appeals Unit by handling complex appellate matters and post-conviction work, collaborating with seasoned prosecutors to shape legal strategy. You will draft, research, and argue cases in the SJC and Appeals Court, while advising fellow ADAs and participating in relevant trainings. The position offers exposure to high-profile litigation within a busy office committed to ethics and public safety. Responsibilities- Research, draft, file, and argue complex appellate cases in the SJC and Appeals Court
- Research, draft, file, and argue post-conviction matters in superior, district and juvenile courts
- Provide legal advice to other assistant district attorneys in the office
- Second-chair homicide cases
Key requirements- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school
- Strong communication, research, and writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Hampden District Attorney's Office Personnel Policies
- Adherence to Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct
- Participation in trainings relevant to Office functions
