Sr. Appraisal Analyst

Overview

In this role you perform advanced property appraisals across residential, commercial, agricultural, and industrial properties to determine market values for taxation, investment, or other purposes. You will mentor junior appraisers, prepare detailed reports, and ensure compliance with appraisal standards. You collaborate with clients and stakeholders to resolve valuation inquiries and may represent the company in hearings or court proceedings. This position advances the firm's ability to deliver precise valuations and strengthen client trust.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced appraisals and assessments for multiple property types
  • Analyze financial, market, and property data to determine market values
  • Oversee appraisal project execution ensuring contract and quality alignment
  • Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports meeting regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal appraisal regulations
  • Collaborate with clients, legal representatives, and stakeholders on valuation disputes
  • Mentor and train junior appraisers
  • Stay informed on market trends, valuation techniques, and legislation
  • Represent the company in hearings, appeals, or court proceedings as an expert
  • Build credible client relationships and communicate with internal/external parties to deliver project standards
Key requirements
  • Ten (10) years of mass appraisal experience across property types
  • Experience with TAX CAMA systems; preference for multiple system experience
  • SQL experience preferred
  • County/municipal government property valuation/assessment experience required
  • Expertise in manipulating computer/statistical models for property valuation
  • Strong knowledge of appraisal standards and state regulations; ability to pass state certifications
  • Strong knowledge of hearing/tracking modules and assessment administration
  • Excellent decision making, mathematical, analytical and root cause problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Commercial and Residential Cost Systems (e.g., Marshall Swift, Boeckh)
  • Strong initiative, collaboration, and customer service experience with stakeholders
  • Strong team-building, conflict resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong written and oral communications including training and presenting data
