Overview As Corporate Counsel, you guide construction, procurement, and development contracts for large-scale power and development projects. You will partner with Development and cross-functional teams to structure, negotiate, and manage high-stakes agreements, while handling regulatory, permitting, and environmental matters. You'll coordinate with contractors, utilities, and outside counsel, supporting project financing and compliance. This role blends strategic advisory with hands-on contract work in a fast-paced environment, shaping project outcomes and corporate risk management.
Responsibilities- Oversee construction and procurement contracting terms and processes; collaborate with Development on contract negotiations
- Advise on regulatory, health and environmental issues for development projects
- Negotiate with contractors and utility providers; structure project documents such as vendor/Supply, O&M agreements
- Support project financing transactions
- Assist with regulatory matters, permitting, environmental, due diligence, real estate, and other transactional work
- Manage outside counsel and third-party relationships; coordinate with partners and counterparties
- Perform a broad range of legal and business matters as assigned by General Counsel
Key requirements- J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
- Bar admission in a U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- Two or more years of experience in a general corporate transactional practice
- Experience with construction or power project contracts (preferred)
