Overview In this role you will develop and execute external communications programs to advance Edward Jones' reputation and enterprise priorities. You will partner with senior leaders and subject matter experts to translate priorities into compelling narratives for clients, financial advisors, media and other stakeholders. You will lead proactive storytelling, media relations, executive communications and reputation management to drive awareness and understanding of strategic priorities. You will collaborate across the organization to elevate the firm's voice and deliver measurable impact. Responsibilities- Develop and implement communications strategies aligned with enterprise priorities and reputation goals.
- Advise senior leaders on strategy, messaging, positioning, stakeholder engagement and external visibility opportunities.
- Identify proactive storytelling opportunities that showcase the firm's priorities and value proposition.
- Create messaging, media materials, FAQs, thought leadership content, executive communications and other assets.
- Cultivate relationships with media and pursue earned media aligned with business goals.
- Prepare and coach spokespersons for media interviews and external engagements.
- Lead communications support for cross-functional initiatives requiring multi-area alignment.
- Anticipate risks and opportunities, offering recommendations to boost understanding and confidence.
- Partner with colleagues to execute integrated communications strategies and campaigns.
- Manage agency partners and external resources to achieve objectives.
- Set communications goals, track outcomes and leverage insights for continuous improvement.
Key requirements- 10+ years in communications, public relations, journalism, media relations, or related fields.
- Strong business acumen and ability to learn new business areas quickly.
- Agile, curious, creative mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities.
- Proven experience in strategic programs within complex or matrixed environments.
- Experience advising senior leaders and navigating stakeholder dynamics with credibility.
- Strong writing, storytelling and messaging across multiple channels.
- Experience managing reputation-sensitive issues and balancing objectives with reputational considerations.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority.
