Overview

In this role you will advance neuromuscular research by designing and executing experiments, developing molecular and cellular assays in iPSC-derived and primary human muscle models, and evaluating potential therapeutics. You will study disease mechanisms in rodent models and communicate findings to cross-functional teams, contributing to Biogen's mission to improve patient outcomes. This position offers translational research exposure with meaningful impact in neuromuscular disorders. You will collaborate across teams to drive research progress and interpret data to shape therapeutic strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, execute, and interpret experiments in neuromuscular research programs
  • Develop and optimize molecular and cellular assays in iPSC-derived and primary human skeletal and cardiac disease models
  • Characterize muscle disease phenotypes in rodent models
  • Present data in team meetings and cross-functional forums
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to advance research progress
Key requirements
  • PhD with 0-2+ years of relevant experience in muscle biology, physiology, or related field
  • Strong background in muscle biology, disease pathophysiology, and translational research
  • Hands-on experience with iPSC-derived and primary human myotube and cardiomyocyte culture
  • In vivo muscle function assessment (evoked force measures, treadmill, etc.) in neuromuscular disease models
  • Biochemistry and molecular biology techniques
  • Statistical analysis using GraphPad Prism or similar software
  • Ability to independently design, execute and troubleshoot experiments
