Senior Scientist or Principal Scientist, Targeted Proteomics

Overview

In this role you will lead targeted proteomics programs to support Kymera's degrader medicines. You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate PD questions into MS assays, drive assay development on state-of-the-art LC-MS systems, and mentor external CRO collaborations. You will present findings to leadership to inform program decisions, enabling translational and clinical-stage advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Define and translate key scientific questions into targeted proteomics experiments
  • Develop, optimize, qualify, and transfer MS-based assays (PRM/MRM) for preclinical and clinical studies
  • Generate pharmacodynamic profiles across diverse biological matrices
  • Oversee CRO proteomics activities including transfer, qualification, execution, and data quality oversight
  • Present data-driven findings and strategic recommendations to project teams and senior leadership
  • Innovate workflows for sensitive, scalable protein quantification and enabling assays
Key requirements
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or Chemical Biology with 2+ years of targeted MS proteomics experience OR BS/MS with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Domain expertise in targeted proteomics and PD-driven drug discovery
  • Experience developing multiplexed PRM/MRM assays using DDA/DIA
  • Immunoaffinity enrichment methods to improve MS sensitivity
  • Experience with nanoLC and Orbitrap MS instrumentation
  • Quantitative data analysis using Skyline or similar tools
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and data-driven communication skills
  • Experience managing external CRO partnerships and regulatory-style documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Organized and solutions-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
