Overview As a Property Damage Litigation Attorney you will represent policyholders in first-party homeowner claims across Colorado. You will handle a diverse caseload, litigate complex coverage issues, and advocate for homeowners facing hail, wind, fire, and water damage. You'll work closely with a team to pursue favorable outcomes and stay current on Colorado insurance law. Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
- Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration
- Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide updates on legal strategies
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys
- Stay informed on developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims
Key requirements- 2+ years of litigation experience (first-party property damage a plus)
- Member of the Colorado Bar in good standing
- Experience managing a full lifecycle of claims from inception to resolution
- Strong legal research and drafting skills
- Experience taking/defending depositions
- Negotiation, mediation, and arbitration experience
- Ability to represent clients in court as needed
- Effective client communication and collaboration with the legal team
