Overview In this role you will design and execute a streamlined Enterprise Risk Management framework that leverages AI to reduce administrative friction. You will lead data governance, AI compliance, and vendor risk across EchoStar and its subsidiaries, ensuring regulatory alignment without slowing business velocity. You will partner with IT, Supply Chain and InfoSec to standardize governance and oversight, including privacy, records management, and responsible AI practices. Responsibilities- Design and implement a low-touch ERM program that uses AI to automate tasks and deliver real-time risk insights to executives
- Lead periodic Enterprise Risk Assessments aligned with DOJ guidelines for international operations and critical business relationships
- Overhaul information governance policies with IT to enforce data retention, archiving, and data lifecycle alignment with GDPR/CCPA/CPRA
- Establish governance across business lines to monitor AI-related risks including algorithmic bias, confidentiality, transparency, and IP protection
- Standardize vendor onboarding, contractual compliance, and risk reassessments with Supply Chain and InfoSec focusing on modern slavery and data privacy obligations
Key requirements- Strategic leadership in designing ERM frameworks and compliance programs
- Deep knowledge of global privacy laws, records management, and data lifecycle governance
- Ability to establish cross-functional governance for AI regulatory risks, data confidentiality, and IP protection
- Vendor risk management and third-party compliance auditing experience
- AI literacy to automate workflows, analyze compliance data, and provide executive insights
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive decision-making skills
- Bachelor's degree; 7-10+ years of experience, including 4+ years in-house legal or equivalent
