Overview

As Corporate Counsel at Likewize, you will provide practical legal guidance across commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives to support global growth. You will partner with cross-functional teams to balance objectives with risk, shaping the company's legal approach in a fast-paced environment. You'll handle insurance licensing, regulatory inquiries, and the review of external materials, turning complex concepts into actionable guidance. This role offers meaningful impact through process improvements and collaboration with stakeholders. You will contribute to a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork, while solving complex problems.

Responsibilities
  • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor and other commercial arrangements
  • Provide practical legal guidance to stakeholders and support strategic initiatives
  • Oversee insurance licensing compliance across the U.S. and Canada
  • Review marketing materials, customer communications, training content, websites, and other external-facing materials
  • Draft responses to regulatory inquiries (e.g., Department of Insurance, BBB)
  • Manage outside counsel and coordinate legal support as needed
  • Assist with insurance regulatory compliance and translate changes into actionable guidance
  • Identify opportunities to improve legal processes and team efficiency
  • Provide broad support across a range of legal and business priorities
Key requirements
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active Texas State Bar
  • 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house
  • Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach and desire to improve processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
