Overview Regulatory Counsel for Amazon's autonomous vehicle and robotics delivery program. You will shape regulatory strategy, build compliance frameworks, and advise cross-functional teams to enable safe testing and deployment across jurisdictions. You will work closely with engineering, product, safety, and public policy to translate regulations into actionable plans and help executives make informed decisions. Responsibilities- Serve as regulatory expert for autonomous vehicle and robotics programs with deep knowledge of NHTSA regulations, FMVSA, and state AV/personal delivery device laws
- Develop regulatory strategy for programs, identifying requirements, assessing risk, and guiding deployment across jurisdictions
- Build and maintain compliance frameworks enabling testing through commercial deployment
- Advise engineering and product teams on how regulatory requirements apply to design decisions, testing protocols, and deployment plans
- Monitor evolving regulatory landscape and proactively advise on implications for current and planned programs
- Support regulatory filings, incident response, and regulator engagement in coordination with public policy
- Collaborate with product counsel, commercial transactions, fleet legal, privacy, IP, and litigation teams on cross-cutting issues
Key requirements- 5+ years of legal experience
- 5+ years of post bar admission legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
