Overview In this role you will lead internal investigations and ethics assessments across regulatory, compliance, and governance areas for a global defense contractor. You'll design and improve compliance programs, work with cross functional teams, and advise executives on risk and disclosure needs. The position combines law, policy, and strategic risk management to prevent issues and strengthen the business. You'll engage with regulators and government agencies, shaping long term compliance in a fast moving defense environment.

Responsibilities- Lead internal investigations and ethics assessments across white-collar, procurement, export controls, IP, privacy, and data protection matters
- Manage the full investigative lifecycle from intake to remediation
- Assess legal exposure and advise on risk, mitigation, and voluntary disclosures
- Design and improve compliance programs, policies, and internal controls
- Develop policies, playbooks, and templates aligned with obligations
- Coordinate cross-functional investigation and audit teams and manage costs
- Engage with government agencies, regulators, auditors, inspectors general, and committees
- Advise on data governance, privacy, cybersecurity and related issues in investigations and compliance
- Take end-to-end ownership of high-impact, strategic projects
Key requirements- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (DC or CA Bar strongly preferred)
- 6+ years of legal experience focused on internal investigations, audits, or white-collar matters
- Experience leading complex investigations from intake to resolution, including privilege management
- Working knowledge of regulatory landscape for U.S. government contractors (FAR/DFARS, FCPA, ITAR/EAR, procurement integrity, employment, data/cyber)
- Ability to own multiple matters end-to-end and handle novel issues in a fast-moving defense/tech environment
- Willingness to contribute across the legal function (IP, litigation, compliance, securities, employment)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 30%
