Overview

In this role you will define an architectural vision aligned to enterprise strategy and drive end-to-end solution design. You work with cross-functional teams to shape architecture runways that enable business epics and features, ensuring non-functional requirements are met. You will serve as a technology SME, communicating complex solutions to diverse audiences and guiding multiple projects. This opportunity offers influence across technology organizations and the chance to contribute to large-scale, transformative initiatives. You will help build flexible, modular architectures that support Bank of America's mission and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with business and operations to identify challenges and opportunities, and align solution intent with architectural vision
  • Plan and prioritize architecture backlog with product management to enable business epics/features
  • Perform design and code reviews to ensure security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability
  • Lead high-level architecture shaping with evolving requirements and ensure modular, adaptable design
  • Educate team members on technology practices, standards, and best practices
  • Create architectural designs using templates and best practices, and suggest improvements
  • Support end-to-end infrastructure projects including server, network, and storage design
  • Coordinate matrix execution across CIO teams and line of business
  • Partner with Program/Project Managers and SMEs to craft business requirements and estimates
  • Uncover root causes to business challenges and propose simplified, standardized solutions
  • Increase alignment by reducing unnecessary developer customization
Key requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of enterprise-level design experience
  • Experience with distributed operating systems, databases, middleware, mainframe and data networks
  • Experience on large-scale complex projects
