Overview

As a Project Architect at Perkins&Will, you drive design excellence and project delivery through strong leadership and cross-disciplinary coordination. You contribute to complex design processes, regulate quality, and ensure alignment with firm standards while managing client and regulatory interactions. You will lead documentation, QA/QC, and construction contract administration, shaping projects from concept to closeout. This role offers the chance to influence design outcomes and advance living design initiatives within a collaborative, mission-driven studio.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the full design process and project goals, ensuring excellence in design, PM, execution, and living design
  • Interpret design decisions and financial constraints to guide project outcomes
  • Coordinate documentation development and deliverable drawings/specifications
  • Review deliverables for quality, conformance, and constructibility across all phases
  • Address Quality Control comments and ensure adherence to Perkins&Will standards
  • Lead internal and external coordination among architecture, interiors, and landscape teams
  • Communicate technical matters with clients and coordinate regulatory reviews and permits
  • Oversee construction contract administration, including submittals, RFIs, field observations, and closeout
  • Stay informed on building technologies and systems relevant to projects
  • Support project marketing, proposals, interviews, and participation in design reviews and charettes
  • Demonstrate strong communication and collaboration to enable high team performance, and mentor staff
Key requirements
  • 8-10 years of architecture experience
  • Bachelor in Architecture (or related field)
  • Proficiency in building, zoning, energy codes and contract documents
  • Architectural license
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire
  • Professional accreditation in Living Design area (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, etc.)
  • Strong client communication and coordination with consultants
  • Experience with construction contract administration
