Job description

Overview

In this role, you will build and own a high-throughput, automated cell-free display platform to screen computationally designed protein binders against hundreds of targets. You will integrate with our ML and automation teams to generate large-scale binding data that trains our design models. The work sits at the intersection of protein engineering, automation, and AI-driven drug discovery, enabling rapid iteration of binder discovery campaigns. You will shape scalable, end-to-end workflows and stay current with advances in cell-free display and automation. This position offers the chance to impact therapeutic discovery at scale and across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and validate a cell-free display platform (cDNA display or similar) compatible with diverse binder formats
  • Scale and automate the platform for high-throughput screening against large panels of targets
  • Collaborate with ML and computational teams to feed screening outputs into model training
  • Support discovery campaigns and affinity maturation with platform capacity as needed
  • Stay current on advances in cell-free display, automation, and computational protein design
Key requirements
  • PhD or equivalent experience in protein biochemistry, molecular biology, biological engineering, or related field
  • Hands-on experience with cell-free selection systems (cDNA display, mRNA display, ribosome display, or similar)
  • Strong molecular biology fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot complex workflows
  • Experience with or strong interest in laboratory automation
  • Collaborative mindset
  • Cross-functional communication
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Cell-free display systems (cDNA display, mRNA display, ribosome display)
  • Laboratory automation and workflows
  • Molecular biology fundamentals
