Overview As Superintendent, you lead day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to project scope while coordinating trade partners and field teams. You will partner with project leadership to drive schedule adherence, risk mitigation, and client satisfaction on complex builds. You'll play a pivotal role in pre-mobilization, start-up planning, and site administration, shaping the project's execution with integrity and grit. Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day site activities, safety, and quality per project plan
- Direct field personnel according to Suffolk principles
- Communicate progress and issues daily to the Project Manager
- Escalate problems for cost-effective solutions
- Build relationships with clients and Suffolk team
- Coordinate with General Superintendent on materials, sequencing, scheduling, and staffing
- Lead pre-mobilization and startup activities with leadership
- Assist in formulating and implementing field construction schedules
- Maintain baseline project schedule and ensure work aligns with contract and client expectations
- Provide monthly updates and two-week look-ahead schedules
- Ensure subcontractors participate in safety pre-con meetings and hold site-specific safety plans and insurance documentation
- Review safety performance and enforce OSHA/governing requirements
- Support safety programs through inspections and predictive solutions software
- Establish and manage project benchmarks and Q-Team participation
- Oversee pre-construction, site utilization, staging plans, and documentation
- Mobilize and maintain the job site to Suffolk standards
- Manage subcontractor performance for quality and ethics
- Address personnel issues and process revisions with PM
- Manage all construction phases including reporting site activities and progress
- Attend and chair project turnover, mobilization, safety, schedule, and closeout meetings
- Handle administrative tasks: checklists, daily reports, logs, and drawings control
- Oversee subcontractor closeout, utilities transfer, owner training, punch list
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline
- 4+ years of related construction field experience
