Work Environment
The position is based in our outpatient office, which is designed to be welcoming and therapeutic to every patient who walks through our doors. Operating Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation equipment. You will collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physicians, and support staff, ensuring a rich, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to gauge the orthopedic conditions and limitations of patients, developing tailored treatment plans based on findings.
- Implement evidence-based treatment protocols utilizing advanced therapeutic techniques that enhance patient recovery and mobility.
- Document patient progress meticulously, crafting clear and comprehensive progress notes, treatment evaluations, and discharge summaries that illustrate the patient's health journey.
- Facilitate timely consultations with other healthcare professionals as necessary to modify treatment plans based on observed changes in patient condition.
- Engage in proactive discharge planning that ensures continuity of care, providing patients with follow-up guidelines and resources to support their ongoing rehabilitation.
- Maintain open lines of communication with fellow team members, physicians, patients, and their families, fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient-centric care.
- Participate in facility meetings and ongoing training to keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements, contributing to the overall quality improvement of our services.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As an Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialist, you will primarily serve patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Your role is not just to assist in physical recovery; it is to empower patients by educating them about their conditions and the recovery process, thus positively impacting their long-term health outcomes.
Qualifications
- A Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required for this position, ensuring that you possess the fundamental clinical knowledge necessary for effective patient care.
- A valid state license to practice physical therapy in New Jersey is necessary.
- Current American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Providers CPR certification is essential to maintain compliance with safety protocols.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of professional experience in physical therapy, particularly in an orthopedic outpatient setting, is highly desirable.
- Experience in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation and Benefits
