Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with strong CATIA V5 skills and hands-on experience supporting mechanical aircraft design. Ideal candidates have experience on military aircraft programs (C-130 experience is a strong plus) and are comfortable working onsite with an engineering team in Marietta.
Responsibilities

Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5 for aircraft mechanical/structural components and assemblies.

Support aircraft design efforts across mechanical systems and airframe hardware (brackets, mounts, sheet metal parts, assemblies, installation layouts, etc.).

Produce engineering documentation such as drawings, BOMs, and design change updates.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of mechanical aircraft design experience

CATIA V5 (strong proficiency required)

Experience producing released aircraft drawings/models in a controlled configuration environment

Strong understanding of aircraft mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing methods

Ability to work onsite in Marietta for the duration of the contract

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting C-130 or similar military aircraft programs

Experience with change control / configuration management processes (ECR/ECO, MRB support, etc.)

Familiarity with aerospace drafting standards and engineering documentation best practices

Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, stress, quality, tooling).

Ensure designs meet program requirements, industry standards, and internal drafting/modeling practices.

Troubleshoot design issues and incorporate feedback from production, sustainment, and field teams.
