The Production Engineering Specialist will be responsible for the following:
Analyze production requirements, manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and production issues to improve production efficiency, product quality, equipment reliability, and cost effectiveness;
Monitor and analyze production activities and performance data using SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and other manufacturing-management systems to support production planning, resource control, and process improvement;
Evaluate manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and automated manufacturing systems to ensure compliance with production specifications, engineering standards, quality requirements, and safety requirements;
Develop, test, and implement production-line configurations, process improvements, and equipment modifications to meet manufacturing requirements;
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, robotic, automated-system, and production-process issues by performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions;
Support the installation, commissioning, modification, maintenance, repair, and optimization of automated automotive production lines and robotic manufacturing equipment;
Perform equipment setup, calibration, tooling replacement, operating-condition adjustments, and preventive maintenance to maintain reliable production operations;
Inspect and evaluate robotic and automated equipment, coordinate necessary repairs, and ensure the availability of required replacement parts and components;
Review and interpret engineering drawings, production layouts, equipment specifications, and manufacturing plans using CATIA, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software;
Improve production-line and equipment productivity through engineering modifications, component replacement, assembly, testing, and calibration;
Analyze equipment performance, production costs, material utilization, and manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs;
Coordinate with production, engineering, maintenance, quality-control personnel, suppliers, and contractors to resolve technical and production-related issues;
Provide technical guidance to production personnel regarding equipment operation, manufacturing processes, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and quality-control requirements;
Assist in the technical evaluation and procurement of production equipment, tooling, replacement parts, and other manufacturing components;
Prepare technical reports and documentation related to equipment issues, production performance, corrective actions, process improvements, and manufacturing-system efficiency;
Develop and implement production-engineering strategies to improve manufacturing capacity, equipment reliability, product quality, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness; and
Monitor developments in automotive manufacturing technologies, engineering standards, equipment safety requirements, manufacturing processes, and material specifications.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline;
Academic or professional knowledge of mechanical systems, production engineering, manufacturing processes, automation, automotive engineering, or related engineering principles;
Knowledge or experience with automotive or industrial manufacturing processes and automated production equipment;
Demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, equipment, and production-process issues;
Knowledge or experience with manufacturing-management and production-control systems, including SAP and/or MES;
Knowledge or experience with CATIA, AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software;
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, manufacturing layouts, equipment specifications, and other technical documentation;
Ability to perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive solutions; and
Strong analytical, technical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
