Overview

In this role you will oversee evaluation and resolution of construction claims within the Primary Casualty Division, partnering with AVP to drive accurate coverage determinations and fair settlements. You will engage with insureds, brokers, and legal teams to gather evidence and manage complex claims, while maintaining compliant processes and proactive communication. The position emphasizes analytical rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and adapt in a collaborative, growth minded environment. Responsibilities
  • Review and process construction claims involving Starr insureds and third party administrators
  • Investigate to determine coverage, liability, and damages; collect documentation from relevant parties
  • Communicate with insureds, claimants, brokers, counsel, and vendors to obtain information and negotiate settlements
  • Maintain accurate claim files and documentation throughout the lifecycle
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and correspondence on status and outcomes for management
  • Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate as needed
  • Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and potential trials to negotiate settlements
  • Contribute to process improvement and compliance monitoring
  • Ensure timely, professional responses to inquiries and high standards of customer service
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-7 years of construction claims experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of primary casualty concepts, policy language, and regulatory requirements
  • Licensing within 6 months of hire
  • Analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
