Overview In this role you will assess and manage credit risk for commercial real estate clients, supporting lending decisions and portfolio health. You will work closely with relationship managers and credit risk teams to underwrite new requests, monitor ongoing credit exposure, and ensure regulatory compliance. You drive financial analysis, scenario-based risk assessments, and timely risk rating updates across the loan lifecycle. This position offers meaningful impact through sound credit judgments and collaboration within a cross-functional team.
Responsibilities- Underwrite new loan requests and material modifications from screen through approval and life of loan
- Conduct ongoing credit monitoring (CCM) including reviews, covenant tracking, and early warning indicators
- Prepare credit analyses with independent risk ratings, risks, mitigants, industry trends and financial performance
- Develop and analyze cash flows, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity, and guarantor analysis
- Attend client/prospect calls with RMs to understand business and inform underwriting
- Recommend risk ratings and assist in structuring loan terms, conditions, controls, and collateral
- Ensure underwriting compliance with Commercial Credit Policy and address compliance questions in discussions
- Collaborate with relationship managers to manage portfolio risk and maintain timeliness of risk ratings
- Lead or participate in transaction execution teams and mentor junior analysts
- Maintain internal controls and respond to audit and regulatory findings
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; or 9 years of combined education/experience with at least 5 years in commercial credit or financial analysis
- Strong analytical skills with financial modeling and credit metrics analysis
- Ability to calculate and interpret financial ratios and perform trend analysis
- Emerging proficiency in legal documentation, structure analysis, and deal negotiation
- Excellent verbal and written communication and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team; strong time management and organizational skills
- Customer-focused relationship-building abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office
