Overview In this role you will assess and manage credit risk for a CRE portfolio, guiding credit structure and risk ratings while coordinating with Credit, Loan Administration, and related teams. You will underwrite new originations and portfolio exposures, support transactions and deal negotiations, and monitor portfolio health with clear, data-driven credit analyses. By collaborating with risk partners and relationship managers, you help ensure credit quality and timely actions that support lending growth. This position offers impact across risk, deal execution, and portfolio management in a dynamic banking environment.

Responsibilities- Underwrite new originations and portfolio exposures across CRE asset classes
- Analyze borrower financials, cash flows, collateral, sponsor strength, covenants, and market conditions
- Prepare clear, comprehensive written credit analyses and supporting docs
- Execute straightforward credit requests with limited supervision
- Assist with annual company-wide credit reviews for clients with multiple properties
- Support existing transactions (refinancings) and ground-up construction projects, including budget monitoring and draw reviews
- Assist with new deal originations and evaluate opportunities ($50M-$100M, up to $750M)
- Prepare and negotiate term sheets as applicable
- Support RM/PMs in managing CRE client relationships and portfolio
- Spread borrower financial statements to bank standards
- Prepare quarterly trend analyses, monitoring reports, and covenant testing
- Maintain credit and financial reporting databases; track agreements and metrics
- Participate in quarterly portfolio reviews and risk assessments
- Identify emerging risks and communicate mitigants at transaction and portfolio levels
- Collaborate with Credit Approvers and internal risk partners; participate in client meetings as needed
- Serve as a reliable first line of credit analysis and escalate issues as appropriate
Key requirements- Five or more years of commercial lending experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication, with cross-functional collaboration ability
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Collaborative across origination, portfolio management, credit risk, and advisors
- Independent, accountable, and proactive in analyses
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (cash flow modeling, scenario analysis)

- Experience with CRE platforms such as nCino and CoStar
