Overview In this role you provide faculty-level support to deliver teaching, research, and patient care within the Department of Dermatology. You will participate in clinical duties across inpatient, outpatient, and consultative settings while contributing to medical education and resident supervision. You will also shoulder administrative responsibilities, including medical direction and committee work at the departmental and health-system levels. This position sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, teaching, and organizational leadership, helping advance UTMB's mission through patient care, education, and scholarly activity.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Offer consultative services and participate in rounds, conferences, and bedside teaching
- Supervise house staff in operating rooms, clinics, and inpatient services
- Engage in continuing medical education and local, regional, and national meetings
- Educate medical students, residents, nursing students, and allied health students
- Assume administrative duties including supervising and evaluating residents and providing medical direction
- Participate in departmental and Health System committees
Key requirements- Graduate of an accredited medical school
- Completed an ACGME-approved dermatology residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Dermatology
- Texas medical license without restrictions
