Overview In this role you lead the Construction Services Program, overseeing construction phase activities, staff, and coordination with engineering divisions. You drive regional business development and align the Construction Group's goals with engineering needs. You will manage performance, quality, and compliance across projects, while mentoring staff and coordinating with clients and sub-consultants. This position offers influence over critical construction phase decisions and service delivery in a multi-office environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee construction phase services and field staff; coordinate with engineering divisions
- Lead business development activities with clients, municipalities, and agencies
- Develop staffing plans, manage workload, and ensure quality per client requirements
- Mentor junior staff and promote involvement in design reviews, cost estimating, and specifications
- Manage sub-consultants and external partners
- Perform constructability reviews and prepare change orders; manage bid and submittal processes
- Conduct preconstruction and biweekly meetings; manage project closeout activities
- Ensure OSHA compliance across projects
- Prepare proposals and negotiate fees for construction phase services
- Develop and maintain procedures for the construction services department
Key requirements- 15+ years of experience in construction services or related field
- Experience supervising construction observation and field office staff
- Strong relationship-building and business development capabilities
- Knowledge of constructability and cost estimating guidance
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety compliance
- Ability to coordinate across multiple projects and teams
- Experience with contract administration and change orders
- Ability to manage sub-consultants and ensure quality control
