Front Desk Triage
Full-Time
Program: SEEDS Case Management
Pay: $17-19/hour
At Hesed House, we truly believe we are going to end homelessness. As a faith-based organization and a national model for ending homelessness, we're open 24/7, 365 days a year, serving more than 1,000 people annually through shelter, supportive housing, case management, and connections to healthcare, legal aid, job coaching, and rehousing services.
Our mission: "To feed the hungry, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, and give people the chance to have hope again."
The Role
You'll be the first face people see when they come to our Community Resource Center looking for help, often on one of the hardest days of their lives. Reporting to the Director of SEEDS Case Management, you'll welcome every guest with dignity, understand what they need, and connect them to the right people and resources.
What you'll do:
Welcome guests, visitors, and community members warmly and without judgment, in person and by phone
Conduct initial intake and triage to understand each guest's immediate needs and next steps
Recognize urgent needs or safety concerns and quickly connect guests with staff, emergency services, or community resources
Coordinate communication between guests, case managers, partner agencies, and other Hesed House staff
Help guests navigate services and complete basic forms and applications
Keep accurate records and protect guests' confidential information
Keep the front desk safe, calm, and organized, and pitch in on other CRC needs as they come up

Are compassionate but firm, and comfortable setting clear boundaries
Stay calm and use sound judgment when situations are stressful or unpredictable
Can meet people "where they're at" and treat everyone with respect
Like being the go-to person who helps people find their way
This may not be the right fit if you prefer a quiet, predictable environment or would rather avoid crisis situations.
