Overview In this role you design and oversee Health and Safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance and a safe, sustainable workplace. As a safety SME, you lead policy development, risk assessments, and inspections coordination across NYPA sites. You will train and guide teams, monitor compliance, and drive safety improvements that align with the company's mission. Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of health & safety regulations to NYPA goals
- Review and interpret policies, regulations, standards for dissemination
- Provide interpretation of third-party submittals (HASPs) from other departments
- Visit NYPA locations to assist in maintaining compliance
- Develop strategies to achieve/maintain regulatory compliance
Key requirements- Thorough understanding of OSHA/PESH Injury & Illness Recordkeeping and Reporting requirements
- Knowledge of workplace hazards (utility-specific)
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Capability to develop and present business cases for programs
- Strong planning skills to develop/implement work plans meeting goals
