Overview In this role you lead a Not-for-Profit advisory team, managing multiple client relationships while delivering technical accounting and reporting services. You drive finance function buildout, process improvement, and system enhancements to support mission-driven organizations. You tackle complex accounting initiatives under ASC 958, donor restrictions, and grants, contributing to client sustainability and impact. You will work with cross-functional teams, shaping not-for-profit financial reporting and controls for long-term success.

Responsibilities- Manage client relationships and engagement oversight
- Improve not-for-profit month-end and year-end close processes
- Lead transitions and special projects (cash-to-accrual, opening balance sheet, consolidation)
- Support financial statement audits, Single Audits, and compliance audits
- Lead technical accounting projects (ASC 958, ASC 606 for contributions, ASC 842)
- Provide guidance on net asset classification, grant accounting, and contribution revenue
- Prepare and review not-for-profit financial statements, footnotes, reconciliations, and memos
- Recommend finance policies, procedures, and operating model improvements
- Support internal financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management
- Advise on finance systems, reporting tools, implementation, and data needs
- Assist with Form 990 and related reporting; identify internal control improvements
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license
- Five or more years of public accounting and/or industry experience in audit, controllership, or consulting
- Experience serving not-for-profit organizations, foundations, higher education, healthcare, or NGOs preferred
- Strong understanding of not-for-profit technical accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close, audits, and not-for-profit reporting
- Excellent communication and project-management abilities
- Ability to travel up to 40%
