Overview In this role you will oversee project-based accounting for complex service and repair work in Carencro, LA, ensuring accurate cost capture and financial reporting. You will partner with operations leaders to provide insights and forecasting support, supporting timely month-end and year-end processes. You will leverage Dynamics 365 Business Central to streamline transactions and improve internal controls, contributing to reliable job costing and audit readiness. This position offers impact through accurate project accounting and cross-functional collaboration in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities- Oversee accounting for service and repair projects from initiation to completion, ensuring accurate cost and financial result capture
- Monitor project financial performance by tracking budgets, expenses, margins, and revenue recognition through execution stages
- Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs to maintain reliable job costing records
- Prepare monthly financial reports, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assemble detailed schedules for reported results
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close by posting entries, validating balances, and supporting deadlines
- Review cost distributions across projects, investigate variances, and research root causes to resolve discrepancies
- Partner with project and operations leaders to provide financial insights, performance updates, and forecasting support
- Maintain work-in-progress schedules, fixed asset records, and depreciation activity; support audit and tax documentation requests
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to process transactions, analyze project data, and improve reporting efficiency and controls
