Overview In this role you will design, develop, test, and deploy interfaces that connect the payroll solution with agency systems, timekeeping, Treasury, and benefits providers. You will work on a cloud-based payroll implementation serving hundreds of thousands of federal employees, focusing on automation, data quality, and compliance. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to address interface defects, support testing, and ensure smooth cutover and stabilization. This position offers a path to contribute to a large-scale transformation of federal payroll processing with a secure, enterprise-grade integration environment.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain interface inventory and design specs
- Design, develop, test, and deploy inbound/outbound interfaces using an enterprise integration platform
- Build file-based and API-based integrations, including fixed-width formats
- Implement error handling, monitoring, logging, retry, and reconciliation for batch interfaces
- Create interfaces for personnel, time/attendance, payment, tax, benefits, and accounting data
- Coordinate with trading partners and system owners to resolve interface defects
- Support system integration testing and user acceptance testing
- Assist interface cutover, dual-run operations, and post-deployment stabilization
Key requirements- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years designing and building system integrations on enterprise implementations
- Experience with API-based integration (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML) and file-based batch integration
- Experience implementing managed file transfer, error handling, retry and reconciliation
- Experience with fixed-width/positional formats, copybook layouts, EDI, or mainframe file interfaces
- Experience debugging integration defects across a system boundary
