Overview Senior Structural Engineer at Stantec leads independent and team-based structural work on small to medium projects, guiding junior engineers on complex tasks. Responsibilities- Independently develop calculations and drawings for small/medium projects
- Lead junior engineers on complex projects
- Coordinate with architectural, interiors, and other engineering disciplines
- Perform construction administration including field observations, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Use company standard and proprietary software for calculations
- Communicate design issues and solutions to design team and owner clients
- Understand standard design processes and construction means/methods
- Deliver projects on time and within budget with high client service
- Assist in developing design standards
Key requirements- Requisite knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and building codes
- Strong knowledge of structural systems, seismic design, construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication to diverse audiences
- Ability to review others' work for accuracy and manage time to meet budgets
- Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and in teams
- Ability to collaborate in project teams and engage in creative/critical thinking
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Experience with modeling software (Autodesk Revit)
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with industry-standard structural software (CSI, RISA, RAM)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; PE licensure and Structural Engineering license required
