Overview In this role you provide legal services to TransUnion Canada, ensuring product development complies with Canadian privacy laws and consumer reporting legislation. You counsel cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle, shaping risk-aware strategies and regulatory alignment. You help manage complex contracts, privacy terms, and go-to-market activities. The position blends legal advisory, policy drafting, and cross-team collaboration to enable compliant product offerings and responsible growth.

Responsibilities- Advise on products, features and initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance
- Review privacy impact assessments and drive risk mitigation
- Provide counsel on complex legal matters affecting products, business and operations
- Draft and update contract templates, terms of use and privacy policies
- Advise marketing on product launches and GTM activities
- Negotiate and support complex commercial contracts and related documents
- Monitor legislative developments impacting operations and offerings
- Provide training and build relationships with internal clients and management
- Support team initiatives and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders
Key requirements- Licensed lawyer in Ontario; 5-7 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of PIPEDA and Canadian privacy law; contract law and corporate commercial knowledge
- Preference for consumer reporting legislation understanding
- Experience advising on products/services or technology; ability to work in a team
- Excellent organizational, advocacy, drafting and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Technologically adept with professional tools; negotiation and analytical strengths
- Experience in digital marketing technology, customer acquisition platforms, or partner ecosystems is a plus
