Overview As Principal in CRA's Energy practice, you will lead research and data-driven analysis across electricity, oil, and gas markets, shaping insights for utilities, investors, and regulators. You'll translate complex economics into expert reports and strategic guidance, collaborating with a project team to drive decision-making on policy, M&A, and market design. This role offers impact at scale, contributing to energy transitions and litigation support while advancing your leadership and technical skills within a renowned firm.

Responsibilities- Analyze electricity, oil, and gas markets to produce insights for clients
- Conduct economic assessments of policies and regulations at multiple levels
- Support clients on strategic and operational decisions in response to ESG concerns
- Prepare expert reports and testimony for energy-related litigation
- Develop and execute commercial strategy for clients
- Plan mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Assess market potential for renewable and unconventional energy technologies
Key requirements- Quantitative discipline major (Economics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics) or equivalent
- Strong research experience and ability to analyze complex ideas
- Proficiency in presentation and written communication
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate with client organizations
- Experience in energy and economics/finance; 7-10+ years preferred
