Responsibilities- Support a litigation caseload from inception through resolution, including strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial prep
- Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, briefs, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts
- Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Manage written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission)
- Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution proceedings
- Develop litigation strategies with senior attorneys and clients to identify key issues and manage risk
- Maintain regular client communication with case assessments, updates, and strategic recommendations
- Collaborate with attorneys across offices on matters involving general liability, premises liability, transportation, and insurance-related claims
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness prep, exhibit development, and coordination with experts
- Coordinate with paralegals and litigation support staff for efficient case management
Key requirements- JD from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in Washington D.C. and Maryland
- 4+ years of defense litigation experience
- Experience with general liability or commercial litigation
- Medical Malpractice experience preferred
- Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions
