Lead Structural Engineer

In this role you will apply advanced structural and civil engineering techniques to improve bridges and public infrastructure. You will lead design, analysis, and construction support across project lifecycles, ensuring safe, durable, and code-compliant solutions. You'll coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage risk while delivering high-quality reports and plans that support rehabilitation and new construction. • Provide high-level structural engineering guidance for investigation, remediation, and construction of bridges and infrastructure
• Develop construction plans, specs, cost estimates, and safety/phasings; coordinate with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients
• Lead design, construction rehabilitation, and remediation efforts across multiple concurrent projects; manage budgets, hours, and resources
• Review and approve design plans for code compliance and data integrity; prepare data visualizations and technical reports
• Prepare risk assessments, HASPs, and support site investigations; ensure safety and regulatory compliance
• Mentor junior team members and ensure QA/QC adherence; work with flexible schedules and potentially travel as needed
• Stay current with latest structural engineering practices and apply them to project work
• Perform additional duties as required by business needs

• Bachelors in Structural or Civil Engineering; 7-10 years of relevant experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer in New York State or eligible by reciprocity
• Strong knowledge of structural and civil construction laws, codes, and regulations
• Proficient in structural design and related processes; ability to perform technical calculations and interpret plans
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences
• Ability to work independently, lead teams, manage multiple projects, and uphold safety policies
• Ability to travel occasionally and adapt to project-specific schedules
