Overview In this role you will contribute to highway and urban street design within Stantec's Albany Transportation group, advancing multimodal projects that reconnect communities across New York State. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on complete streets, expressways, and bridge-related work, while growing toward project leadership and client-facing responsibilities. Responsibilities- Design complete streets, expressways, and multiuse facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists following AASHTO, NACTO, MUTCD, and NYSDOT specifications
- Develop design plans, calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies
- Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and subconsultants
- Perform field investigations and construction-phase services support
- Present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public
- Work with experienced practitioners to expand knowledge
- Provide guidance to mentor and influence team members
Key requirements- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in complete streets and/or highway design
- Proficiency with MicroStation, Inroads, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MS Office
- Familiarity with NYSDOT CAD Standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Pro-active, detail-oriented, punctual and organized
- EIT required and ability to obtain NY PE
