Associate Director of Marketing - IP

Overview

In this role you drive strategic marketing and client development for the IP practice within a US law firm. You translate practice plans into actionable campaigns, guide buyer personas and segments, and steer practice-building initiatives. You partner across Marketing & Client Development to align BU priorities with enterprise roadmaps, craft personalized content, and oversee the BU's marketing budget and high-stakes pitches. This is a leadership role with a focus on strategic impact and talent development in a collaborative, professional setting.

Responsibilities
  • Translate practice marketing plans into briefs for Campaign Strategy and engineer customer journeys to achieve BU outcomes
  • Consult on buyer profiles and influencers with the Insights team to build target segments
  • Direct the practice-building roadmap and ensure materials and touchpoints reflect market trends
  • Partner with MCD leaders to reflect BU priorities in enterprise roadmaps and channels
  • Define personalization triggers and content needs for practice-level messaging
  • Oversee BU marketing budget and ROI of sponsorships and spend
  • Lead strategy and narrative development for complex pitches in collaboration with Client Development and Pursuits & Proposal teams
  • Collaborate with Insights & Optimization to interpret dashboards and suggest strategic shifts
  • Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports and manage staffing, time logs, and performance development
  • Support hiring, performance reviews, counseling, and other lifecycle events in collaboration with supervisor and HR
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in marketing or business development
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Prior professional services or B2B marketing experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and iManage
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Quality and consistency in task execution
