Overview As a Rail Bridge Engineer, you will lead design execution and technical analysis for rail bridge projects, advancing safety and reliability across critical infrastructure. You'll work within CHA's Bridge Team to deliver rehabilitation and innovative solutions, collaborating across engineering disciplines and with clients. You drive complex technical work, guide junior engineers, and contribute to proposals and presentations. This role offers hands-on leadership in a nationally recognized transportation team with real impact on communities.
Responsibilities- Lead the technical execution of complex bridge designs, reports, and specifications
- Provide expert consultation on highly complex bridge and transportation engineering issues (including ABC)
- Lead advanced technical projects collaborating with other departments and project management
- Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with milestones, budgets, and schedules
- Mentor and review work of junior engineering staff
- Contribute to proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience
- Expert knowledge in the respective engineering discipline with best practices
- Advanced proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation
- Strong QA/QC, business practices, and engineering law understanding
