Overview In this role, you will lead the development of contract proposal estimates and post-award procurement for a diverse range of commercial projects. You'll collaborate with sales, operations, and vendors to deliver accurate bids and robust subcontract packages, supporting Graycor's growth and financial objectives. You'll engage in pre-bid activities, takeoffs, and price negotiation while ensuring compliance with project specs and BIS processes. Responsibilities- Prepare and assemble bid proposals with detailed estimates and scope takeoffs
- Solicit pricing from qualified vendors and subcontractors
- Review proposal specs and drawings using the BIS (Bid Information System)
- Participate in bidding and pre-construction activities; attend pre-bid meetings
- Research, negotiate, and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects
- Ensure necessary insurance requirements are obtained for subs and vendors
- Participate in pre-job meetings with project management personnel
Key requirements- Minimum of two years of relevant construction estimating experience in general commercial markets
- Bachelor degree preferred but not required; degree in construction management, engineering or related field ideal
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with subs, vendors, operations, and business development
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., WinEst, On-Screen Takeoff) and Microsoft programs
