Overview

In this Building Envelope role at Stantec, you lead assessment, detailing, testing, and field work on building envelope projects. You collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure performance and compliance. You will manage multiple projects, mentor teammates, and advance your leadership and project management capabilities through international training. You work on diverse assignments, from rehabilitation to new construction, delivering durable envelope solutions at scale. Responsibilities
  • Review design documents, shop drawings, and submittals for water intrusion, air leakage, vapor diffusion, thermal performance, and differential movement
  • Conduct field reviews on new construction and rehab projects to verify envelope assemblies align with mock-ups and designs
  • Create site visit reports and track outstanding deficiencies and resolutions
  • Perform field testing of envelope elements to verify water infiltration and air leakage performance and document results
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and sub-trades
  • Direct envelope design and construction document development
  • Conduct forensic analyses of envelope failures
  • Lead field work for assessing existing buildings and prepare envelope assessment reports
  • Deliver presentations to diverse stakeholders including legal professionals, contractors, and consultants
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and/or constructing building envelope systems
  • Highschool Diploma required
  • Project management skills for handling multiple concurrent projects
  • Practical knowledge of energy code, rain screen principles, air barriers and thermal performance
  • Ability to work effectively in a team with strong customer service
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid driver's license with clean MVR
